The Abbey Group Metal Treatment division treats a wide range of materials from low alloy carbon steels to heat resisting nickel based superalloys. The bespoke gas fired batch furnaces are serviced by two dedicated charging machines, providing a vast metal treatment capability. Treatments include:
- solution annealing up to 1200c
- normalising
- hardening & tempering
- stress relieving
- age hardening
- maximum single batch weight 4000kg

The experienced team at Metal Treatment provides a superior standard of workmanship. This is supported by exacting inspection equipment, including fully calibrated static and portable brinell hardness testing machines and a brintronic fully automated microscope. The entire plant is controlled by state of the art instrumentation and surveyed to international standards, including RPS 953. With this substantial investment in the facility, Metal Treatment is able to ensure that customers’ heat treatment requirements are comprehensively completed.
